Ruminations: A deep or considered thought about something.
Well COVID has hit close to home. My son, his wife and their daughter have been quarantined because of the virus. Thankfully they are all doing well and getting better and anxiously waiting to get over the quarantine period. I can tell you that this does change peoples lives. Cathy and I took on the responsibility of taking care of the three other grand kids while the quarantine was going on. My son's first wife left for a vacation so we stepped up to handle the kids. It was sure a busy and exhausting week. Cathy and I were being stretched to the limit. Now don't get me wrong I love the grand kids, but my time of ensuring a child does their homework, driving them to school, refereeing fights, getting them to clean up after themselves, refereeing more fights, getting more groceries, entertaining a preschooler, etc.. were over a long time ago. Cathy and I are not as young as we used to be and we were both grateful when their Mom came back from vacation to take them home. In my old age I like peace and quiet a lot more than I like noise and chaos.
I can see where COVID has affected many lives and businesses lately. I am praying that this gets over soon and the US can get back to normal. Many businesses are hurting and the state of Indiana has gone and placed more restrictions on businesses and schools. Things are going to get tougher before they get better that is for sure. Cathy and I are planning on spending Thanksgiving with my other son and his family. I am sure we will be practicing social distancing during our time away.
As for next summer's job. Well I applied for Yellowstone again, but I also applied to work a golf course in East Glacier Montana. This is the course next to the famous Glacier Park Lodge. This would be a dream job for me but the chances I will get it are pretty slim. We will see. Wall Drug has not contacted me about next summer, but I imagine they will try to get me to come back. I really enjoyed the people I worked with but the trailer living and the job were not the best.
